Constance and other nuns of the Sisters of St. Mary, as well as missionary priests, cared for victims of yellow fever during an outbreak in Memphis, Tennessee, nursing the sick, burying the dead, and finally dying of infection themselves. Nor were Episcopalians the only ones who gave their lives. Together they are all revered in the city to this day.
