Thomas Bray, an English country parson, visited Anglicans in the Maryland colony once and took a lasting interest in the Church in the American colonies, but his greatest influence was his founding two major missionary societies, for Promoting Christian Knowledge and for Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts, both still in existence and successful all over the world.
