Robert Hunt Memorial, Historic Jamestown, Virginia; the town was Virginia’s first settlement and capital. Hunt, a courageous and well-loved priest, celebrated the first Eucharist in North America (though Canadians also claim a first) at the English colony, which lasted about a century, until a disastrous fire cause the capital to be moved to nearby Williamsburg. Jamestown, which is now an island, is still populated but no longer a town. (National Park Service)
