Carl Fredrik Reutersward, the Swedish sculptor of “Non-violence,” has died. Seen here in Munich with one of the copies of his iconic piece, he came up with the idea after John Lennon was shot. The original work was placed in New York’s Central Park opposite the apartment building where Lennon was killed; now it’s located at the United Nations headquarters, as well as 30 other cities around the world. We thought this was the best image we could show for Mother’s Day. (Istvan Bajzat/Picture-Alliance/dpa)
