This was the church Nicholas Ferrar took over when his family, having suffered financial reverses, bought the decrepit manor house in the abandoned village of Little Gidding in Huntingdonshire. It’s tiny – all choir, no nave, cozy sanctuary – but it was a perfect fit; they sat in their pews facing each other and praised God every day. A few generations later, monasteries began to be re-established in England. (Wikipedia)
