Archbishop Romero is the most famous of the Salvadoran Martyrs, but many other clergy, religious and lay ministers were also slain, including Maryknoll Sisters Ita Ford and Maura Clarke, along with Ursuline Sister Dorothy Kazel and lay minister Jean Donovan, raped, killed by the side of the road and buried in a shallow grave in 1980.
