Buffalo jumps, scattered throughout the western USA and Canada, are cliff formations where Native American hunters gathered, prayed, and then into the valley below for community hunts of the sacred animals. This one is within Wind Cave National Park, South Dakota. They remain sacred places today. (National Park Service)
