A guard at an ICE contract prison in Central Falls, Rhode Island plowed his pickup into a crowd of protesters blocking the gate Wednesday night, sending two people to the hospital, before driving on to work as local police watched and took no action – except to pepper spray the people nearby. The prison has suspended the driver, a captain of the facility, and the state attorney general has promised to investigate. A spokeswoman for Never Again Action, a Jewish activist group which protests at ICE prisons to prevent a future Holocaust, said, “It certainly appeared he was trying to hit us.” (WLNE-TV)
