Blackwater contractor Nicholas Slatten was sentenced to life in prison last week for killing 14 unarmed civilians on a Baghdad street in 2007. Slatten and three other defendants were assigned to provide security for State Department personnel. They spotted what they thought was a car bomber speeding toward them and opened fire, killed ten unarmed men, two women and two children, age 9 and 11. (Cliff Owen/AP)
