StThecla.Basilica of Ars.Biblical Archaeology

Thecla lived in Iconium and one day heard a sermon by St. Paul that so moved her, she went on an immediate three-day fast, after which she broke off her engagement in favor of virginity. This displeased her fiancé, her wealthy family and the Roman governor, so she was put to death. Her cult began very quickly afterward, and she has always been seen as a prime example of the empowerment of women. This window is seen at the Basilica of Ars, France. (Biblical Archaeology)
