The Art Institute of Chicago has purchased a gigantic Tiffany stained glass window, 23 feet by 16 feet, from the former First Baptist Church founded by Roger Williams in Providence, Rhode Island, and plans to hang it over the Grand Staircase at the entrance to the museum in downtown Chicago. Designed and executed by Tiffany’s Agnes Northrup in 1917, it depicts a well-known waterfall in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. (Community Church of Providence)
