The Chicago Sun-Times published a wonderful photo spread of the city’s LGBTQ landmarks this weekend, including Women and Children First, one of the oldest feminist bookstores/community centers in the United States. The store is located in the Andersonville neighborhood, a former Swedish enclave now known as Girlstown. Chicago’s Boystown, centered nearby on Halstead Street, won city designation as a Gay village in 1993. (Tyler LaRiviere/Chicago Sun-Times)
