Fr Michael Pfleger Returns StSabina Ashlee Rezin Garcia CST

Fr. Michael Pfleger, a social justice priest at Chicago’s St. Sabina Church, has been cleared of 40-year-old accusations of child sexual abuse and restored to his pulpit, the Chicago Archdiocese announced. Fr. Pfleger enjoys the fervent support of most parishioners at St. Sabina in the city’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood, one of the city’s poorest. He has led Black Lives Matter marches that stopped traffic on the city’s main north-south expressway. He led a 3-hour service at his megachurch Sunday featuring film director Spike Lee. Parishioners gave Pfleger a hero’s welcome. (Ashlee Rezin Garcia, Chicago Sun-Times)
