CO2 Capture Plant Iceland.Climeworks

Iceland has unveiled the world’s biggest carbon dioxide capture plant. It will draw 5000 metric tons of CO2 out of the air, heated to boiling, then mixed with water and pumped underground into basalt caverns where the water will cool and slowly turn into gray stone. The planet will need to extract a billion metric tons by 2050 to mitigate climate change, so thousands of plants like this would be needed; the developers hope this one serves as a blueprint for wide distribution and improvement.
