Montgomery littoral combat ship Manman Dejito AFP

The USS Montgomery is one of a newer class of littoral combat ships, meaning they patrol close to the shore in danger zones like the Phillipines and the South China Sea. The commanding officer and executive officer were reportedly replaced for botching a sexual harassment investigation. Last April the Navy removed the commander of the guided-missile destroyer USS Hopper, for what the Navy said was a poor command climate and low morale. (Manman Dejito/Agence France-Presse)
