U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi met with President of Taiwan Tsai Ing-wen and semiconductor manufacturers Wednesday, defying China’s strenuous objections and saber-rattling. “America’s determination to preserve democracy, here in Taiwan and around the world, remains ironclad,” she told the president.
