Former Georgia district attorney Jackie Johnson has been indicted for allegedly helping cover up the murder of Ahmaud Arbery, an unarmed Black jogger, last year. She is charged with showing “favor and affection” for suspect Greg McDaniel, a former investigator in her employ, and his son Travis McDaniel, also a suspect whose arrest she allegedly tried to prevent. The McDaniels and a neighbor who filmed the encounter go on trial this fall; Ms. Johnson, who was voted out last year, faces 1-5 years in prison. (Terry Dixon/The Brunswick News)
