Elisabeth Cruciger’s hymn wasn’t just the first woman’s composition in Lutheran worship, it was one of the very first, published in Luther’s Erfurt Enchiridion in 1524. We have a version of this hymn below in tonight’s video; it is still sung by Lutherans, as adapted, modernized and translated.
